Depok, Harian Umum-Pancasila University is committed to making its campus a green campus. He said he processed the campus waste into electricity and fertilizer by combining biodigester and pyrolysis technology.
Dean of the Faculty of Engineering, University of Pancasila (FTUP) Budhi M Suyitno said the biodigester technology was developed by the Center for the Study of New and Renewable Energy with a capacity of 1 m3 of organic raw materials to produce 2kW electric products. Meanwhile, the pyrolysis reactor can produce 0.8 liters of fuel with an octane value of 83.6 from 1 kg of plastic waste.
"This waste-powered power plant technology is also equipped with supporting equipment for chopping plastic, Refused Derived Fuel (RDF) equipment which consists of a grinder engine, an RDF printer and dryer to process wood, rubber and paper waste into fuel," he said.
The electrical product generated from this waste generation technology is used as a source of electricity for lighting. Currently, he said, the electrical energy generated is used for lighting the park in Edu Techno Park. Then the by-products are solid and liquid fertilizers for local plants and hydroponics as well as fish feed in Edu Techno Park.
"The target is five years. And this is the second year, so it is hoped that in three years the electricity can be independent towards a green campus," said Budhi.
In addition, his party also utilizes Water Recycling Utilization Processing Technology. The result of this technology is the water used for watering plants in the Edu Techno Park FTUP environment with a Total Dissolved Solid (TDS) filtering process so that smell and taste, degree of acidity, hardness can return to clean water.
At the same place, UP Chancellor Wahono Sumaryono said the technology developed by researchers was displayed at Edu Techno Park. It is hoped that this park will become a showcase for FTUP technology products that can get closer to the community, especially to introduce the SDG-oriented green campus program. (hnk)
